How long has it been?

Hey :) I know I haven't been here for like AGES. I just realized I skipped a whole year without any sort of blogging. Sadly, I have zero blog posts in the year 2016. I guess it's mainly because of Instagram which I used as like my little "blog". That explains a lot why my posts there are quite lengthy. Here's a little snippet of what I've been up for the past year. I couldn't screenshot everything as it would take forever.

INSTAGRAM

It's only up to October 26, 2016. As you can see my feed is saturated with food photos. You shouldn't be surprised if you knew me. I actually get complaints from people and asking me to stop posting photos because they're on a diet of some sort. I'd like to apologize for that. I just could not stop my hands from snapping away whenever I encounter an amazing-looking meal. It's like second nature to me now.

Anyway, a lot of things happened after I graduated & got my Bachelor's degree. I know I've always contemplated whether I should study & go back to country I was born in. It took a while and a lot of preparations & thought to it. Yes, I am currently in the Philippines and studying. It's awesome here! I'll talk about this country in a whole different post. For now, I'm going to end this post. 'Till the next post! :)

Chirp, chirp

Such an early time to blog right now! I'm supposed to be sleeping but the idea of a new post on my blog kept nagging at me. Warning: This may be a super short post.

I know I'm supposed to be getting some sleep cos I will be having yet another photoshoot later in the afternoon! There are so many things to prepare, I have yet to put my headscarf in the laundry! I'm not worried cos I know it will dry fast since the material is quite thin. I think I just have to worry about what to wear. This is the last photoshoot and it will be with my best circle of friends. We're just planning to get a friend to take some informal photos of us five. Graduating is a huge milestone & a salute to our four year-long friendships. I'm ecstatic for later!

Here's a collage of my photos with coursemates during graduation day!

We are now GRADUATES!

Friends

You see, thinking deeply in the middle of the night isn't really my thing. But somehow, I am sitting here on my bed just thinking about the randomest things. The topic that caught my attention was regarding friends.

The past few weeks just passed by as any semester I've experienced in the years since I started university. It's true I haven't been a good friend to my close circle of friends. Once the semester starts, BAM! I shift into this nerd mode. I'm not someone who could manage time wisely. I tend to focus on one thing at a time. That means there are always two options; spending time with friends or studying my butt off for that topical test? For me, the latter will always be my choice.

That question could be twisted into choosing between living in the moment or preparing for your future. I know friends are sometimes temporary. People change and that's inevitable. Friends turn into strangers once a barrier pops up. An example would be two friends living in two different countries.

How can you ensure a long-lasting friendship? I seriously need the formula because apparently my methods are not as successful? It's frustrating. Every time I see a friend I haven't seen in the longest time, I always feel that there is a distance. That sense of awkwardness and thinking about every word that comes out of their mouths. I'm sure I never changed how I treated them. I still have that same enthusiasm. Or is it how they perceive my actions?

Latest look!

Finally, my blog gets a revamp! Many thanks to Bloggercandy for a simple and adorable template! If only I could design like her, I wouldn't have to spend hours searching for a suitable skin for my blog to keep me motivated in blogging. Well, I hope it works. The results will be seen shortly after!

Look at my recent changes:

A lot has happened since the day I last blogged here. I have yet to update this blog. I have many stories to tell and there's this vacation I'm looking forward to in July. So hopefully I'll be able to write all about them here. Only time will tell!

POST 038

Lately, I've been thinking of renovating my blogspot. After watching Social Network and seeing "Mark" blog, I felt motivated to keep on blogging. How odd. I'm still thinking of the header. [In progress]

I'm done with exams, as you can see. And this week started with my Shadow Attachment at RIPAS Hospital at the Paediatrics Department. So far it has been swell. The doctors have been teaching me well and I actually have assignments to do. Gotta search for the answers later.
Although I've been having a great time staying there, the experience also made me rethink everything about my future. I had to recheck with myself if this is what I really wanted. If you were here to see my moods, you would see that nowadays I'm strangely quiet. This is because I've been feeling really depressed. For one thing, because the doctors have been telling me to just study in the Philippines, which is a better option, they say. This all means that whether I get good grades or not, it'll still be beneficial to me. Funny actually.

Upsides of Phil:
Will learn how to be independent

New friends
More hands-on teaching
Will be studying most of the time due to boredom
Can experience new things

Downsides of Phil:
Will be a complete outsider (most probably)
Dangerous
No social life (no hanging out with friends) <- I'm OK with this actually

Upsides of Bru:
My whole family is here

My friends are here
Peaceful & safe (won't be living in fear)
I'm free to go anywhere

Will be able to see my little cousin, Ben James, grow up.

Downsides of Bru:
I'll feel trapped
No new environment
I would get bored soon enough

I'll just add more pros and cons if I can think of any. I wonder if anyone has made this kind of decision before? Oh well, let's leave it to fate. If I've gotten good grades, then it's a sign that God wants me to study here. If not, I'm off to Phil. Win-win situation if you look at it from my perspective.
Anyway, I'll be off now. Have to finish watching You're Beautiful (the last episodes which I missed) & new drama: Playful Kiss. Just going to give it a chance since I was a big fan of the Taiwanese one: It Started With a Kiss. Will see, will see.
yours truly,
`R
